Traditional Frames

The picture frame is constructed from high-quality oak wood, known for its durability, warmth, and distinctive grain patterns. The choice of oak lends a timeless and classic aesthetic to the frame. The wood may be left in its natural state to showcase the beauty of the material, or it could be stained or finished to match a particular colour scheme or decor.

The inner edge of the frame, known as the " rebate " is designed to securely hold the artwork in place. Depending on the client's preference, the frame may be fitted with clear glass or acrylic to protect the artwork from dust and damage. The backing board, often made of acid-free materials, provides additional support.

The finish of the bespoke oak frame can vary, from a smooth and polished surface to a more rustic or distressed appearance, depending on the desired aesthetic. I apply two coats of the finest  wax to enhance the wood's natural beauty and preserve its integrity over time.

Ultimately, a traditional bespoke oak picture frame is a testament to skilled craftsmanship, tailored to the unique specifications of the artwork and the individual preferences of the customer. It serves not only as a functional support for the artwork but also as a work of art in itself, contributing to the overall presentation and ambiance of the displayed piece.
